Work Experience
Sonia often receives requests from students about work experience in her office. She does offer a day shadowing with her, usually on a Friday, as she goes around the constituency on visits and hosts surgeries.
The office are only willing to take students over the age of 18. This is because constituents often come to our office with a wide range of issues, some of which can be quite challenging topics even for our very experienced caseworkers. We can’t say for certain what a young person may hear out and about on visits with the MP from members of the public, either sharing a distressing circumstance or at times Sonia does experience some hostility. Because of this, we can’t ensure parents can give fully informed consent ahead of time.

We aim to accommodate most students but residents of Dudley will be prioritised if there is more than one request for the same day.
